Should you ever do something you don't enjoy?
That really depends on what it is and why you're doing it.
Always go back to, you have to do it to lose weight. So if you don't enjoy it are you going to do it?
If you want to work on a weakness then good for you. If you want to challenge yourself with an event. Absolutely, why not?
You'll probably start enjoying the progress you're making.
What I would say, make sure the goals are your own and you're not trying to prove yourself to anyone else.
But don't feel bad if there is something you don't like and you just don't want to do it.
If it's not impeding your goals and it's not impacting your health then don't do it. That would just be like self punishment. And who needs more of that!
I'm really not a fan of running. The long distance kind, I don't actually mind sprinting.
I know long distance running, and by long distance I mean anything over 400m, is a weakness of mine.
Do I hate it because I'm not good at it, or, am I not good at it because I hate doing it?
I'm not sure.
Either way, I've got no inclination to enter any running events, and I can work on my cardio in other ways. So staying away from running isn't impacting my general fitness or my goals.
As I don't enjoy it, why would I put myself through that!
