Weight Loss Products: Do You Really Need It?

Weight loss products: Do you really need it? Will it help your journey?

Have you been trying to lose weight for a while?

Do your eyes start to twinkle when you see the latest, must have weight loss gadget?

You've read weight loss product reviews and apparently it was the Holy Grail for hundreds of people and you want one.

But you've got so many gadgets, each promising to be the answer to your prayers. Each one promising to get you the body of your dreams.

How do you know this one will work?

What you need is a guide to weigh loss product reviews. Well, here it is.

Here are my top 4 tips for doing your own reviews.

1. Weight Loss Products Reviews: Use Your Common Sense

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I hate to say it, because I know you don't want to hear it. But ... if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

There are so many products on the market that claim to be THE answer to your weight loss woes. Suggesting you can get the body you’ve always dreamed about, with very little effort. And sometimes not even changing your lifestyle.

So my question would be, why is obesity becoming such an issue?

If it’s that easy, surely everyone would do it.

The truth is, you’re not going to be able to make changes to your appearance, your weight, your health, without some effort on your part.

You’re definitely not going to get there with the same habits that made you overweight.

Use your common sense.

Those weight loss pills may help you shed a few pounds initially. But, if you don’t change the way you eat the weight won’t stay off when you stop taking them.

That electrical ab toning belt may help to build up your abs without having to do crunches, but if you’re not burning the fat around your middle, you’ll never see them.

If you’re on a diet that isn’t teaching you about the long term, you’ll probably go back to the way you ate before you started the diet.

So, use your common sense and you’ll be fine.

2. Weight Loss Product Reviews: Don't Get Sucked In

Marketers can use Photoshop as well.

Ok, you’ve heard of Photoshop haven’t you?

Magazines regularly use it to make models, actresses and pop stars look amazing. To make eyes sparkle, teeth whiter and, oh yes, airbrush out cellulite.

Well, unscrupulous marketers use it as well. It’s really not that hard.

They use it to make people look 10 lbs, or two stone lighter, so the before and after pictures make you want their product.

It’s never going to be easy to tell what photographs have been Photoshoped. So again it’s about using common sense.

Also, don’t get hung up on short term pictures.

It’s all very well someone being able to lose weight after three months, but how do they look five years on?

If they’ve managed to keep the weight off for five years, then the product would be worth looking into.

It’s much harder to keep weight off than it is to lose it in the first place. And that’s because most diets, training plans and other weight loss gadgets, don’t focus on the long term.

They don’t teach you how to live healthily, sustainably.

3. Weight Loss Product Reviews: Read Lots of Reviews

Google is your friend, this time.

Don’t just rely on one website to get reviews and make up your mind.

Google is your friend in this regard.

You really shouldn’t google medical symptoms, bed bugs or mucus plug. Seriously, don’t do it. But when you’re deciding whether to spend your money on anything weight loss related, google is the place to be.

Read, read and read some more.

The more you read the more you can get a feel of whether the product is worthy.

Be very wary of anything that has lots of websites saying roughly the same thing. This is usually marketing spiel that has been regurgitated. It can’t be trusted.

Amazon is really good for reviews. So if the product in question is available for sale on Amazon see what their customers have to say. You can also ask them directly with the very handy ‘Customer questions and answers’ feature.

They’ll let you know if it was any good.

4. Weight Loss Product Reviews: Use e-Slimmer

I review a weight loss product every month.

Here at e-Slimmer I review a weight loss product every month.

I always try the product, apart from weight loss pills, because, well, I wasn’t prepared to take the risk. Which means you have a first-hand review.

You’ll get the skinny on the good points, the bad points, how to make the most out the product and whether it’s worth spending your money on it.

Obviously I can only try one product at a time, so I may not have covered the specific product you want to buy. But don’t worry. You can always ask me.

Submit an FAQ, drop me an e-mail or ask on Facebook.

If I’ve ever used it, I will let you know how I got on.

If I haven’t used it, I will do some research and give you my honest opinion. And who knows, it might be next month’s weight loss product reviews.

There are so many products that claim to help weight loss, how do you know which ones to will to believe? Which ones will actually help? Find out...
